Do you have trouble managing your email? If you’re like me, you get a lot of email, and getting control of it can be pretty time-consuming.
If this sounds familiar, you might want to check out Gmail’s newest feature: Priority Inbox. It’s going to be rolled out to users gradually – and you may already have it. Check for an alert in the top right hand corner of your Gmail window, or look for the tab in your settings.
I’ve been using Gmail since it’s early days of beta, and I love most of the features they come up with. Still, I’m a little hesitant to relenquish control over my email management. I’m looking forward to giving this a try and see how effective it really is. It has the potential to be a really useful tool.

Do you think you’ll try it? Have you tried it already? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for mentioning this Lisa. I wasn’t aware of it and hadn’t noticed the red link at the top yet.
I’m with you on being hesitant on this. Of course if I was really honest, I’d have to admit that I’m not so good at managing my inbox so I’m not sure the Google robots could be worse
Quick Update: I turned it on right after my original comment and so far I’m liking it.
I like that you end up with two inbox views — one prioritized and one not. That way you can always see things the old way if you want.
I agree, Mike. After using it all day yesterday I’m officially giving it a thumbs-up. I love that all the stuff I don’t need to read right away is filtered out into the bottom panel. What a great feeling! It “learns” quickly, too, and I can tweak it when needed.
Lisa, I am using Priority Inbox and it rocks. It let’s you see exactly the most important emails to which you should have a look first.
It checks how often do I read the messages from a sender and if I have replied to them, then adds them the priority label.
Plus, if its missing any important email I can add the label manually and next time will be automatically tagged as a priority.
How cool is that?
Thanks for sharing the article.

Eugen, I agree. I’ve been using it for over a week now and it’s really helped me gain some clarity around my inbox. Occasionally I mark something more or less important, but overall Gmail puts everything in the right place.
My only challenge now is that I find myself naturally looking at the top and bottom panes – I’m careful not to “overlook” those starred (most important!) items…
