The Process
Initial Contact
After you contact me for the first time, I’ll will send you a link to schedule a convenient time for us to discuss your project. I may also send you a project planner to fill out to give us both a better feel of your vision and needs. After that, I’ll be able to give you a solid pricing estimate.
Initial Retainer and Content
If you decide to work with me, an initial deposit of 50% as well as the website content (text, photos, etc.) will be required before I can start work on the site design. Please note that this deposit is non-refundable.
Design Comp
Once I receive your content and deposit, I’ll start developing the design. This usually takes a few weeks and is often the hardest part for you, because it’s hard to wait! But it’s important not to rush this very important step. Once I have a rough design that I’m happy with, I’ll send it to you to look over, and we’ll discuss what (if any) revisions need to be made.
Site Construction and Preview
After you approve the design concepts I will begin development of the site. When I have finished with this stage, I’ll give you a link to my test server so that you can look it over and make any more changes or corrections.
Final Payment
After the site has been tested and approved, the remaining 50% of the estimate is due before making the site “live”. I’ll then move the site to its permanent server, and we’ll crack open a bottle of virtual champagne!
Maintenance
After your site has gone live, you have the option of having Sprout New Media maintain your site for you. If you would like to take advantage of this option, just let me know and I’ll make a separate agreement for that. Ongoing maintenance is handled by subscription at a flat monthly fee, or support on demand at an hourly rate.
